And the survey says: No other game show has been as popular throughout the world as the classic “Family Feud.” Now, Hispanics in the U.S. will have their very own version to enjoy every weeknight on TeleFutura. TeleFutura will premiere 100 Mexicanos Dijeron (100 Mexicans Said) on Monday, October 7, 2002, at 7:00 p.m./6:00 p.m. Central. The show will air Monday-Friday, 7:00-7:30 p.m./6:00-6:30 p.m. Central.
Hosted by the charismatic Marco Antonio Regil, familiar to U.S. viewers as the emcee of Univision Network’s Premio Lo Nuestro awards ceremony, 100 Mexicanos Dijeron brings viewers all the entertainment, humor and excitement of the widely-loved “Family Feud”-but with a totally latino twist, which guarantees loads of action, enthusiasm and high-spirited fun. The game is played by two teams, each composed of five family members, battling each other for cash prizes. Both teams must answer simple questions that have already been asked in a survey of 100 people. The object is to guess which were the most frequent survey answers, and match them. Points are awarded on the basis of the survey results. The team that first scores 300 points wins the game and goes on to play “Fast Money,” where two team members must answer five questions in 15 seconds to win a jackpot of up to $50,000 (half a million Mexican pesos).
In the U.S.A., “Family Feud” was the # 1 rated syndicated game show from 1978 to 1984, and again became the highest rated new game show when it was re-launched in 1999. This enormous success has been repeated in 29 countries around the world between 1980 and the present.
Airing in Mexico since 2001, 100 Mexicanos Dijeron is watched daily by millions of viewers, consistently ranking as the top rated game show in the country.
