TeleFutura Premiers ‘Cómplices Al Rescate’.

The day Silvana and Mariana meet by accident, they get the shock of their lives: both look exactly alike. Could they be twins separated at birth, or is it simply an uncanny resemblance? That moment of discovery becomes crucial in the lives of these young girls, embarking them on a truly extraordinary adventure. Their heartwarming story is at the core of Cómplices Al Rescate (Friends to the Rescue), scheduled to debut on Monday, September 16, 2002 on TeleFutura.

A huge success throughout Latin America and Puerto Rico, the Televisa production Cómplices Al Rescate brings young audiences a wonderfully entertaining adventure that delivers suspense, nonstop surprises, and a positive message about friendship and family values. In addition, an original soundtrack performed by the actual members of the cast has become a best-selling CD in Latin America, and spawned a sold-out music tour by the “Cómplices,” making the novela’s characters come to life for thousands of Hispanic youngsters.

Featuring a highly talented troupe of child and teen actors, in addition to internationally famous stars such as Laura Flores, Francisco Gattorno, Johnny Lozada, and Carlos Bonavides, the story revolves around eleven-year-old Silvana and Mariana (both played by Belinda). Silvana, who lives in an elegant mansion with her father, mother and nanny, dreams of becoming a famous singer, but knows she has little talent. One day, at a town fair, she hears a beautiful voice just like the one she wishes she had. The singer turns out to be a girl her own age-who happens to look exactly like her. Although they have never met before, and in spite of the fact that Mariana comes from a modest home and has practically nothing in common with Silvana, both girls feel like they have known each other forever. They quickly become good friends, but decide to keep their relationship secret.

Cómplices Al Rescate premieres on Monday, September 16, 2002 at 6 p.m./5 p.m Central.
