As the temperature rises, so will viewers’ enjoyment of the hottest selection of Spanish-language shows found anywhere on the dial. Kicking off the Network’s summer schedule is a first-class Fourth of July movie marathon guaranteed to surpass any fireworks display. And it doesn’t end there. An unbeatable line-up of hit programs, ranging from the ever-popular “novelas,” to comedies, to blockbuster films, is guaranteed to make TeleFutura required viewing this summer.
TeleFutura turns on the heat this Fourth of July, cooking up a delectable all-day movie marathon that is certain to please everyone’s tastes. Beginning at 7:00 A.M. ET (check local listings) is the cartoon classic “Katy La Oruga,” an animated film about a curious caterpillar whose wanderings in the woods lead to countless adventures. Then, from 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. ET (check local listings), it’s the musical comedy “Estos Locos Locos Estudiantes” with Alma Delfina and Fernando Arau, a movie that combines comedy with drama in a story about life in high school and typical adolescent rivalries. Hysteria rules the afternoon and into the night as TeleFutura presents all four parts of the hugely popular “La Risa en Vacaciones” series, featuring madcap comedians Pedro Romo, Pablo Ferrer, and Paco Ibañez. The first film airs at 3:00 P.M. ET (check local listings), followed by all three sequels at 5:00 P.M. ET (Part II), 7:00 P.M. ET (Part III), and 9:00 P.M. ET (Part IV). The comedy continues late into the night with “Con el Niño Atravesado” from 11:30 P.M. – 1:30 A.M. ET (check local listings), a film about a bank robber who not only loses his loot but also a baby taken hostage during the escape, leading to hilarious situations when both are found.
TeleFutura’s morning shows will also see the mercury rise this summer as the Network makes several additions to its early daytime programming. Joining the morning line-up on Monday, July 8 is the children’s series “Gotita de Amor,” starring the angelic actress Andrea Lagunes as “Chabelita.” This heartwarming story of a young girl whose desperate search for a family leads her on a touching journey of love, will air weekdays from 8:00 A.M. – 9:00 A.M. ET (check local listings). Then, starting Tuesday, July 9 following the finale of “Cambio de Piel” (July 8), TeleFutura will debut the young adult novela “Hoy Te Vi”. Airing Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. ET (check local listings), this refreshing series deals with a band of young musicians who discover the true value of friendship, love, and money while struggling to become stars. Continuing in its original time slot from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. ET (check local listings) is the epic drama “Isabella…Mujer Enamorada,” followed by the popular magazine-style program “La Oreja” at 11:00 A.M. ET (check local listings). This comedy/showbiz news show provides the perfect lead-in to the highly rated talk and entertainment program “El Escándalo del Mediodía,” which airs Monday through Friday from 12 Noon – 2:00 P.M. ET (check local listings).
The weather isn’t the only thing that will be hot this summer – so will TeleFutura’s afternoon and nighttime programming. Beginning Monday, July 8, Radio Caracas Television’s production “Carita Pintada” will return to one-hour episodes, airing Monday through Friday from 5:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. ET (check local listings). Also on Monday, July 8, at 6:00 P.M. ET (check local listings) the Network will premiere the novela “Mis Tres Hermanas,” starring Scarlet Ortiz, Ricardo Alamo and Roxana Diaz. This story traces the lives of three sisters, raised by an older brother, who must overcome a series of difficult challenges in order to find happiness and love. Later, at 7:00 P.M. ET (check local listings), the blockbuster novela “El Inútil,” continues to enthrall viewers in its regular timeslot with the story of a young man torn by his affection for two women from the same family.
Also beginning Monday, July 8, the entertaining game show “Aprieta y Gana” will air every Monday through Thursday from 8:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. ET (check local listings). This “battle of the sexes”-style show hosted by Winston Vallenilla and Camila Canabal features unique competitions between men and women, with the audience participating, as well. Finally, TeleFutura’s highly rated movie block, “Cine de las Estrellas,” continues to air Monday through Thursday from 9:00 – 11:00 P.M. ET (check local listings) as well as the prime-time boxing show “Sólo Boxeo” on Fridays at 9:00 P.M. ET (check local listings).
