Telemundo To Acquire KXTX-TV In Dallas.

Telemundo Communications Group, Inc. and Southwest Sports Television, L.P. announced that they have entered into an agreement for Telemundo to acquire the full-power independent station KXTX-TV, Channel 39, in Dallas from Southwest Sports.
The acquisition of KXTX-TV will provide Telemundo with an owned and operated station in each of the eight largest U.S. Hispanic markets. Having more than doubled its Hispanic population in the last decade to 1.2 million, Dallas-Ft. Worth is the fastest growing of the top 20 Hispanic markets in the U.S. Hispanics now represents 20.5% of Dallas-Ft. Worth’s total population. Telemundo has historically served this market with an affiliated station.
