Telemundo announces 2021 “LATIN AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS”

Telemundo announced that the 6th Annual “Latin American Music Awards” is back and will take place Thursday, April 15 from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. The “Latin AMAs”, which was on hiatus in 2020 due to the pandemic, will be broadcast live on Telemundo starting at 7pm/6c with the red carpet pre-show followed at 8pm/7c by the awards show. The star-studded event will pay tribute to today’s most influential and iconic Latin artists as voted by music fans in the tradition of the “American Music Awards,” the world’s largest fan-voted award show.

The three-hour special will be hosted by internationally acclaimed actress and host Jacqueline Bracamontes, who returns to host the show for a second time. Bracamontes is one of the most important figures in Latin American television. The Mexican star, who previously served as the host of “La Voz México” (The Voice Mexico) for five seasons, joined Telemundo as co-host of the primetime sports and entertainment show “Viva el Mundial y Más,” featuring highlights and updates of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™. She returned to Telemundo to serve as cohost for both seasons of “La Voz” and is currently appearing in “La Suerte de Loli.” Throughout her career, she has starred in several successful telenovelas such as “Las Tontas No Van al Cielo,” “Heridas de Amor” and “Sortilegio,” as well as multiple Spanish-language television shows and specials.

“Music is such an important unifying force for us, and I am delighted to return as host of this notable event once again to recognize and celebrate our most popular Latin artists. It will be an exciting and entertaining evening full of incredible performances, and I look forward to seeing you at the ‘Latin AMAs!,’” said Bracamontes.

“During the last six years, the ‘Latin AMAs’ has become a global platform for artists that truly resonate with their audience, as the winners are selected based solely on fans’ votes,” said Ronald Day, President, Entertainment and Content for Telemundo. “We are excited to bring our viewers an impressive, star-studded musical event that will also extend across platforms with extensive and exclusive additional content.  With award-winning actress and host Jacky Bracamontes at the helm, we’re certain it will be an incredible show.”

The 2021 “Latin AMAs” will also broadcast simultaneously on Spanish entertainment cable network, Universo and throughout the Americas on Telemundo Internacional.
