Telemundo Deportes announces exclusive coverage of EL CLÁSICO DE MÉXICO INCLUDING CLÁSICO WEEK FESTIVITIES AND THE CHIVAS VS. AMÉRICA MATCH

Telemundo Deportes, the U.S. broadcast home of Chivas de Guadalajara, will present week-long exclusive coverage of El Clásico De México from Mexico City and Guadalajara across all platforms. Coverage kicks off today, March 14, featuring Clásico Week celebrations leading up to the match between the biggest rivals in Mexican soccer, Chivas and América. Match day coverage on Saturday, March 18 includes a special pregame show from Estadio Akron at 10 p.m. ET followed by the broadcast of the match at 10:30 p.m. ET. El Clásico de México coverage will air live on Telemundo, Universo, TelemundoDeportes.com, and the Telemundo App in Spanish; and on Peacock and SiriusXM in English.

Emmy-award winning sports journalist Miguel Gurwtiz and Mexican soccer legend Carlos Hermosillo will give fans a look into all the Clásico Week festivities in Mexico leading up to the big match on Saturday including exclusive interviews, a glance at the trophies, e-sports tournaments and pre-game press conferences. As part of the celebrations, Hermosillo and Gurwitz head to a mariachi school, dress up in full gear, and try their luck at being musicians while former Guadalajara star Manuel Sol is put through the paces by a Chivas physical trainer to see if he still has what it takes to be a player.

Exclusive interviews with Chivas and América players, coaches, and staff are set to include Chivas Winger Alexis Vega, América coach Fernando Oritz, and more. Hermosillo will speak with the team’s equipment manager to learn more about the players’ kit preferences, pregame rituals, and other fun facts. Mexican Flag football star Diana Flores, who starred in the Superbowl commercial this year, will be a guest at the match in honor of Women’s History Month for a special segment during the pregame show.

As part of the countdown to the game, Telemundo’s Los Angeles Sports Reporter Saul Rodriguez will be in Los Angeles with Guadalajara’s US fanbase “Chivahermanos” who will gather in a very colorful and fun watch party to enjoy the match.

El Clásico de México match on Saturday is set to be broadcast live from 3 different host positions in Estadio Akron. Telemundo’s announce team will include six-time Emmy Award winner Andres Cantor and Chivas de Guadalajara veteran Manuel Sol providing play-by-play; and reporter Arantza Fernandez providing pitch-side coverage. Ana Jurka is set to join the team in support from Telemundo Center in Miami. English-language coverage of the match will be led by Sports Journalist Jose Bauz and Sports Analyst Carlos Yustis.

Additionally, the leading late-night weekend sports show hosted Zona Mixta, will be co-hosted by Ana Jurka and Veronica Rodriguez who will highlight the best of El Clásico de México and showcase post-game interviews and analysis live from Guadalajara.
