Telemundo Deportes drops Futbol spot to promote the 2022 FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR during Super Bowl LVI

Telemundo Deportes will run a fútbol commercial promoting the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™ during the broadcast of Super Bowl LVI on NBC, Telemundo and Universo and streamed on Peacock on Sunday, Feb. 13.

Andres Cantor’s mic-dropping “goool” call returns after making its mark four years ago in the Telemundo Deportes’s 2018 World Cup ad placed during the broadcast of Super Bowl LII on NBC. In this new World Cup spot, Cantor teaches people across America his goal call and explains why that is the true and only way to call and celebrate a goal.

“We made history with our 2018 World Cup spot – it was the first time FIFA World Cup was promoted during Super Bowl, the biggest, most-watched sporting event in the U.S. This year, we are proud to continue making history with the first broadcast of the Super Bowl on a Spanish-language broadcast network,” said Ray Warren, president, Telemundo Deportes.

Created and produced in-house by Telemundo’s marketing and creative team, the new spot takes on a new approach to the 2018 mic drop ad. This time, the commercial features Cantor sharing his goal call with people across the nation in different settings and everyone coming together – including NBCUniversal personalities, such as Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and the Minions – to call one final “goool” in unison, following Cantor’s unique signature style and fashion.

The :30-second commercial is slated to run across NBCUniversal’s platforms offering comprehensive and exclusive coverage of Super Bowl LVI, including NBC, Telemundo and Universo. In addition, Cantor will make an appearance on NBC Sports’ Super Bowl pregame show, which will feature a :15-second teaser previewing the World Cup spot airing during the broadcast of the game.

Telemundo and Universo will present exclusive, Spanish-language coverage from SoFi Stadium leading up to the live presentation of Super Bowl LVI on Sunday, Feb. 13. Coverage will be led by Emmy-Award winner, Miguel Gurwitz, along with Ana Jurka, Karim Mendiburu and special guest, former player with the Arizona Cardinals, Rolando Cantu. Carlos Mauricio Ramirez will serve as play-by-play and Jorge Andres will provide game analysis.
