Telemundo announced it continues to strengthen its U.S. coverage through affiliation with broadcast stations in New Orleans, Louisiana and Boise, Idaho.
WHMM will be the first and only Spanish-language full power station in the New Orleans DMA to serve the fastest growing segment of the 67th largest Hispanic market. WHMM, expected to launch in mid-May, will be carried on the broadcast basic line-ups of the cable systems and DBS services in the DMA. In addition, on April 1, Telemundo launched on KKIC in Boise, ID, the 70th largest Hispanic market. KKIC is also available on basic cable.
“We are extremely excited to enter the New Orleans market which is experiencing unprecedented growth as the city works to rebuild. New Orleans is an increasingly important Hispanic market and we are pleased that our programming will be widely available throughout the DMA,” said Ann Gaulke, Senior Vice-President of Affiliate Relations for Telemundo. Gaulke added, “We are also pleased to expand our coverage in the Boise DMA which ranks among the top 50 markets in terms of Hispanic density.”
