Telemundo extends rights on away matches of The Mexican National Team through 2013.

Telemundo announced it has extended its exclusive U.S. broadcast and online rights to away World Cup qualifying matches of The Mexican National Team through 2013.

“For over 10 years, Telemundo has been the exclusive home of the Mexican National Team’s World Cup away qualifying matches. This agreement keeps that tradition alive during Mexico’s journey on the road to qualification,” added Jorge Hidalgo, Senior Executive Vice President, Telemundo Network Sports. “Only the Deportes Telemundo team, led by Andres Cantor, can define the passion and deliver the broadcast excellence that Hispanics demand.”

Emmy Award-winning announcer, Andres Cantor, who recently renewed his commitment with Telemundo, will call the World Cup qualifying games live and on location. Together with renowned commentator Jessi Losada and analyst Sammy Sadovnik, viewers will enjoy extensive signature coverage before, during and after the games, on-air, online and via mobile. Mexico’s match-ups on the road to the World Cup will be determined when the preliminary draw for qualifying takes place on July 30, 2011.
