Telemundo fastest growing network regardless of language in 2008.

Telemundo announced its results for 2008. According to Nielsen Media Research data, Telemundo is pacing to be the fastest growing among all major broadcast networks regardless of language in general market primetime among Total Viewers (P2+) and Adults 18-49 compared to last year.

Telemundo is also on pace to register six consecutive months of month-to-month growth among Adults 18-49 in Monday through Friday Prime starting in July 2008, the longest streak in 2008 for any major Spanish-language broadcaster.
 
Last week, Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste aired a two-part exclusive interview with Carmen Dominicci. The interview garnered a timeperiod rating among Total Viewers (Persons 2+) of over 1.1 million on each day pacing 19% higher than last month’s average on the first day of the interview and surging to 45% higher on the second day.

In 2008, Telemundo made history by broadcasting four of the top 10 novelas in the network’s history.
 
The Rumbo al Mundial franchise shattered records in 2008 by reaching nearly 15 million unduplicated Total Viewers (Persons 2+), increasing overall reach against 2007 Mexican National Team performance by an additional 1.1 million viewers. Among Adults 18-49 Rumbo reached 8.5 million, increasing its reach over 2007 by +4% or an additional 346,000 viewers.
 
The Rumbo al Mundial match between Honduras vs. Mexico on 11/19/08 ranks as the network’s highest rated program ever among Adults 18-49 (2.1 million viewers) and Total Viewers (Persons 2+) (3.2 million) in Telemundo history going back to November 1992.
 
Comparatively, The Mexican National Team franchise outscores Univision and Telefutura’s Liga Mexicana by a wide margin, more than doubling their deliveries in Adults 18-49 in 2008 (Telemundo- 1.3 million, Univision- 655,000, Telefutura 582,000).
 
Twelve million unique Total Viewers (Persons 2+) tuned to Telemundo to watch the 2008 Beijing Olympics this summer. The total number of viewers surpassed the ’04 Athens cumulative audience (10.8 M) by 12%.

In its second Olympic broadcast, Telemundo offered an unprecedented 380+ hours of exclusive coverage through its standard daily broadcast schedule – 2am to 6am ET/PT and 8am to 10am ET/PT – as well as its 24/7 broadband-exclusive video coverage in its exclusive webpage, www.OlimpiadasTelemundo.com.
 
Premios Billboard set a new record in 2008 delivering the best ever performance over the course of its ten-year run on the network with 2,034,000 Total Viewers (Persons 2+) and #2 among Adults 18-49 1,096,000. Premios Billboard reached 5.5 million unduplicated viewers, gaining one million more viewers than 2007.
 
In 2008, the Telemundo Digital Media in partnership with People en Español launched the first-ever 360 solution to select the 51st Most Beautiful (Bello) and a record breaking 9,000 entries were submitted.
 
For the first time ever, Telemundo asked its digital and mobile platform users to decide the onscreen outcome of the hit primetime novela, Sin Senos No Hay Paraiso. Over 10,000 mobile votes were submitted In less than a week.
 
The Telemundo Video player reached an average 1.3 million users in 2008 and in October alone streamed over 14 MM videos.
 
In 2008, mun2 increased its distribution 56% from last year and now reaches 26.5 million US homes. The mun2 audience experienced gains vs. 2007 and is finishing up the year on an upswing with 31% more viewers among its key demo Persons 18-34.
 
In Fourth Quarter, mun2 is pacing to be the fastest bilingual cable network among Hispanic Adults 18-34.
