Telemundo honored with GLAAD & Emmy Awards.

Telemundo, a leading producer of high-quality content for Hispanics in the U.S. and audiences around the world, was honored with several prestigious media industry awards from GLAAD and the New York Emmys over the weekend of April 17-18, 2010.

At the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards on Sunday, April 18, Telemundo received three awards. The network’s popular Mas Sabe el Diablo was recognized in the Outstanding Novela category, and Al Rojo Vivo’s “Damas gracias: Entrevista con Eva Leivas-Andino” won for Outstanding TV Journalism—Newsmagazine. Additionally, Telemundo’s news division was honored with an award for Oustanding Spanish-Language TV Journalism Segment for Noticiero Telemundo’s “Polémicas Adopciones.”
Telemundo’s New York affiliate, WNJU-TV, was a big winner at the New York Emmy Awards on Sunday, April 18. The station took home awards across a broad range of categories, including Outstanding Societal Concerns, Outstanding News Special, and Outstanding Documentary. WNJU won in the News Special category for its coverage of “Milagro en el Hudson.” The station’s in-depth look at domestic violence earned the Societal Concerns award. The WJNU documentary “Guatemala La Joya de Centroamerica” won the Documentary category.
Telemundo’s Odalys Molina, co-host of “Acceso Total,” and Emmy nominee Jorge Ramos were among the hosts for this year’s New York Emmys.
