Telemundo Hosts Events In LA – Mexican Revolution Leader Emiliano Zapata.

Telemundo, in partnership with the Mexican Cultural Institute and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), will host a series of community events in Los Angeles to celebrate the launch of “Zapata: Amor en Rebeldia,” a television miniseries on Mexican Revolution leader Emiliano Zapata.

This landmark production tells the story of Emiliano Zapata, a justice-seeking peasant, champion of agrarianism, who fought in guerilla actions during and after the Mexican Revolution to protect the two ideals featured in his slogan: “Tierra y Libertad” (Land and Liberty). The video will contain English subtitles.
Children’s event to present the book “Zapata para los Niños” (Zapata for the Children) Event is free and open to children and parents

Zapata… para los Niños is a children’s book written by Mexico’s first lady of literature Elena Poniatowska and illustrated by L.A. artist José Ramirez. Children will be engaged as storytellers dressed in period clothing read and act out passages from the book. Each child will receive a free sample of the book.
TV PROGRAM: “Zapata: Amor en Rebeldia” is a six-day miniseries that will air on Telemundo August 23-30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT and stars Demian Bichir, Lorena Rojas, Rogelio Guerra and Giovanna Zacarias.
