Telemundo Internacional to distribute Dance Dance Dance.

Telemundo Communications Group President, Don Browne joined by Marcos Santana, President of Telemundo Internacional (TI), announced a new distribution deal with one of Brazil’s leading media companies, Bandeirantes (Band), for the distribution rights of the Brazilian network’s first-ever HD telenovela, Dance Dance Dance. Band owns 79 stations in Brazil and is also available in the United States through its Band International and Band News properties.

“Telemundo Internacional’s growing success is a clear result of our commitment to a business strategy of producing our own content, which has allowed us to be successful in the U.S. and around the world,” said Browne. “Thanks to this strategy, in only four years Telemundo has become the second most important provider of Spanish language content in the world.”

Dance Dance Dance, followed in Brazil by more than 6 million viewers, is a romantic musical story. It is the first-ever telenovela to be produced in HD for Band. As part of the deal, TI has been granted the global distribution rights for the novela excluding Brazil and parts of Asia. The writer of Dance Dance Dance, is the renowned novela author, Juana Uribe, who has scribed many novela hits and was also responsible for programming “Betty la Fea” in Colombia.

“Telemundo Internacional has increased the network’s presence dramatically in the international market,” added Santana. “Our sales have soared in Asia and Europe, exceeding more than 30% over last year with over 35,500 hours of Telemundo’s programs distributed globally.”
