Telemundo Internacional & Samsung LatAM launch VOD App.

Telemundo Internacional and Samsung Latin America announced the launching of a new App, Telemundo Internacional VOD for Samsung Smart TV and Samsung mobile devices.

On signing this agreement, Marcos Santana, President of Telemundo Internacional, stated that the company aims to go beyond the conventional and introduce its productions to the technology market, thus opening up a new way to air its shows. “In this way, we will offer users the opportunity to watch great stories with production value whenever and wherever they want,” said Santana.

Through this application, developed by Tangerine Mobile, four Telemundo Internacional super productions, including “La Reina del Sur,” “Dame Chocolate,” “Decisiones” and “La Diosa Coronada” —which have captured Hispanic audiences both inside and outside the USA— will be available. They can be requested, episode by episode, via the VOD system.

“We are really excited about this new agreement which marks another important step in Telemundo Internacional’s digital developments in the region, using its own brand and its new image,” stated Luis Daniel Capriles, VP of Digital Media for Telemundo Internacional.

Mexico, Colombia and Spain are the settings for “La Reina del Sur,” a production that has proved to be a huge success and has topped all audience ratings. Featuring Kate del Castillo, Rafael Amaya, Humberto Zurita, Alejandro Calva, Gabriel Porras and Ivan Sanchez, it tells the story of a young woman of humble origins who becomes a powerful drug queen pin.

On the other hand, “Dame Chocolate”, with Carlos Ponce and Genesis Rodriguez playing the leading roles, has made its mark in countries like Ecuador, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Panama, and many others.

“Decisiones” portrays everyday events based on true stories, all of them with an unexpected ending. Each “Decision” captivates TV viewers as it unfolds.

Going from being a national queen to a drug queen pin, the main character in “La Diosa Coronada” shows how a woman’s attempt to rise above poverty takes her deep into the dark world of drug trafficking.
