TELEMUNDO A LA MANO on your cellular and PDA.

Telemundo announced that its Station Group has entered an exclusive Spanish-language wireless content deal with LSN. Branded “A la Mano/On hand,” the business initiative launching in early May, will make Telemundo local stations news, weather, sports and other local relevant content available to consumers on their cell phones and PDAs. Participating Telemundo local stations include Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Chicago and Dallas.

Cell phones and PDAs are the primary source of communication to many Hispanics in our market; “More and more research is supporting the fact that Hispanics are using these tools to stay connected to their communities and culture,” said Enrique Perez, SVP of Telemundo Station Group Sales, Telemundo. “We’re excited about taking the lead in the Hispanic Market in bringing wireless sales and marketing opportunities in local markets to our advertisers. Our partnership with LSN is a prime example of how we are expanding to include platforms that our audience is embracing, and advertisers are asking for, giving them immediate access to the Telemundo experience at the palm of their hands.”

“Unique and original content that is not just repurposed is what really makes this exciting for us and for all of our carrier partners. We are clearly breaking new ground here and look for very significant usage.” added Lee Durham, President and CEO of LSN, Inc.

As part of the agreement, website content from local Telemundo stations will include News, Weather, Sports, Entertainment, Lottery and Horoscopes. In addition, sponsorship will be available to advertisers as part of the business venture. A text messaging component is also outlined in the agreement, which will allow for updates and promotional communications with cell phone and PDA users. The exclusive content will be made available via major cellular phone carriers including, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile among others.
