February 28, 2005
This Monday, March 28th at 9 p.m./8c, Telemundo launches its latest original production “Los Plateados,” an epic love story depicting the search for justice and preservation of honor, starring a spectacular ensemble cast headlined by Humberto Zurita, Tamara Monserrat, Dominika Paleta and including the much anticipated return of Mauricio Islas.
According to legend, “Los Plateados”, “The Silverados”, were bandits who in the early 20th century robbed the routes where silver was transported to the states of Guanajuato and Taxco and who were heirs to the fight against French intervention. Their mission in life was to fight for justice, revenge their father’s death, and honor their pledge to never fall in love.
That is, until one day Gabriel Campusano (Mauricio Islas), the eldest sibling and the group’s leader decides to attack the estate of his biggest enemy, the powerful Emilio Gallardo (Humberto Zurita). The attack, it turns out, takes place at the exact moment that Emilio is tying the knot with the beautiful and innocent Camila Castañeda (Tamara Monserrat). When Gabriel sets his eyes on Camila for the first time, he falls hopelessly in love with her. Camila, who is being forced to marry Emilio, a man twice her age, is kidnapped by Los Plateados and becomes smitten by Gabriel, who is also known as ‘the man of bewitching eyes.’
This entire unexpected scenario sets the stage for a tale of forbidden love between Gabriel and Camila, and reveals the cruelty and rage of the proud Emilio.
The cast of “Los Plateados” also includes Alvaro Guerrero, Wendy de los Cobos, Marta Aura, Gloria Peralta, Guillermo Quintanilla, Claudia Lobo, Eduardo Victoria, Héctor Arredondo, Rodrigo Oviedo, Juan Carlos Martín del Campo, Angélica Celaya, Michelle Vargas, Teresa Tuccio, Joaquín Cosío, Rocío Verdejo, Carlos Corona, Damayanti Quintanar, María Aura, Mayra Sierra, Alberto Guerra, Aurora de la Lama, Zamia Fandiño, Gizeth Galatea, Luis Yeverino, Angel Chehin and Maru Bravo.
“Los Plateados” is produced in Mexico by Argos, the creators of the popular “Gitanas,” “Zapata,” “El Alma Herida,” and “Ladrón de Corazones.” Executive producer is Epigmenio Ibarra; the director is Walter Doehner; and the executive in charge of production is Mauricio Gerson.
