Telemundo Media partners with TRENDRR.TV.

Telemundo Media announced that it will partner with Trendrr.TV, the category-defining social TV measurement and real-time conversation curation platform, for the 2012 “Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm.” Pitbull, Cristian Castro, Samo, Natti Natasha, Loalwa Braz and Akon have joined the star-studded line-up of performers; Marc Anthony will be honored with the Billboard Hall of Fame Award; and Aylin Mujica and Daniel Sarcos will co-host the distinguished event that will broadcast live on Telemundo on Thursday, April 26, at 7PM/6c from the BankUnited Center in Miami, Florida.

“Partnering with Trendrr.TV will help us maximize Telemundo’s social media efforts for the 2012 ‘Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm®’ and bring a uniquely integrated SocialTV experience to viewers,” said Borja Perez, Senior Vice President, Digital & Social Media, Telemundo Media. “Trendrr.TV’s tools will also aid the producers of the awards show as we strive to provide real-time social results to audiences throughout the show.”

Telemundo will incorporate Trendrr.TV’s social-media and conversation curation to provide a comprehensive real-time worldwide view of the hottest social topics surrounding the biggest Latin music event of the year. Implementing Trendrr.TV’s tools, Telemundo will integrate a real-time ranking of the top five artists trending on Twitter, in relation to the 2012 “Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm®,” into the red carpet broadcast, as well as the main awards show broadcast. The hottest topics will be displayed on air, online and via mobile during the awards show, offering audiences anywhere on the planet an engaging look at viewer comments on the awards and red-carpet moments. Trendrr.TV’s patent-pending service will filter social data from Twitter and Facebook in Spanish and English.

“Integrating a real-time social layer into tent pole events has proved an engaging and effective value add to viewers, the TV networks and advertisers,” added Trendrr.TV president, Tom Donohue. “Telemundo’s audience is already socially active, but this should send the audience into overdrive.”
