Telemundo Network News On The War Frontlines.

As America prepares for war against Iraq, Telemundo Network News is already providing Spanish speaking viewers coverage from Baghdad, Kuwait and Israel. “All Americans are affected by events in Iraq,” said Joe Peyronnin, Executive Vice President of Telemundo Network News. “Thousands of Hispanics are on America’s frontlines, and Telemundo Network News will be with them.” Should war occur, Telemundo will provide extensive continuous uninterrupted news coverage on both the Telemundo Network and Telemundo Internacional, which is seen throughout Latin America.

Telemundo Network News is part of NBC News, and its reporters are co-deployed with NBC News personnel in the region. Veteran Telemundo correspondent Pablo Gato has been reporting live from Kuwait, reporter Fran Sevilla from Baghdad, reporter Elias Zaldivar from Israel and reporters Allan Villanfana and Fernando Mejia will be reporting from Qatar. NBC News correspondent Kerry Sanders has provided support to Telemundo from Kuwait.

As part of its live coverage, Telemundo Network News will also provide chemical and biological warfare experts, as well as former U.S. General and government officials. Should this war be fought, America will utilize the most sophisticated military technology ever use in war, and Telemundo will provide special reports on these weapons systems. Telemundo will also deploy modern technology to cover the war front.

Telemundo Network News provided 133 hours of continuous live news coverage of the World Trade Center terrorist attack in September 2001, more than any other U.S. broadcast network, for which it received a special Emmy award late last year. Anchors include Pedro Sevcec and Ana Patricia Candiani. Anjanette Delgado is the Executive Producer of special coverage entitled “Objective: Saddam”.
