April 9, 2006
This April Telemundo posted its strongest April performance ever in Monday through Friday prime (M-F, 7-11PM) in the coveted demos of adults 18-49 (A18-49) and adults 18-34 (A18-34). Averaging a 3.7 rating / 762,000 in A18-49 Telemundo posted a 42% gain over April’05 (2.6 rating), and garnered a 26 share of the audience watching the three major Spanish-language networks during weekday primetime. Among A18-34 the network averaged a 3.6 rating / 460,000 with a 26 share, up 64% over the same month last year (2.2 rating). This makes Telemundo the only major Spanish-language broadcast network with ratings increases over last year and, once again, the fastest growing broadcaster among both Hispanic A18-49 and A18-34 in M-F prime.

The star-studded Telemundo special captured a 36 share of the A18-49 audience and a 35 share of the A18-34 audience watching the three major Spanish-language broadcast nets in primetime.
The network’s pre-show “Alfombra Roja Billboard” also set a new record in 2006 with a 4.3 rating / almost 900,000 viewers in A18-49 (50% increase vs. last year) and a 4.3 rating / over 500,000 in A18-34 (a 48% increase vs. last year.)
“These results continue to confirm a clear cause and effect relationship between our development, production, and programming strategy and what our viewers want,” said Don Browne, President, Telemundo. “We are providing relevant content specifically created for all U.S. Hispanics and they are rewarding us by tuning-in in growing numbers.”
