Telemundo premieres Historias de la Virgen Morena.

Telemundo Media announced the premiere of the original series “Historias de la Virgen Morena” on Monday, October 1 at 12:00 PM ET/PT, 11PM CT. The daytime drama series, to air Monday through Friday, is a high-level television production inspired on real-life stories related to the Virgin of Guadalupe and her impact on the lives of common-day people in Mexico.

“‘La Virgen Morena’ pays homage to the thousands of people who pray to the Virgin of Guadalupe for help and inspiration in coping with problems in their daily lives,” said Joshua Mintz, Executive Vice President of Scripted Programming and General Manager of Telemundo Studios. “This series is a high level production with compelling stories that will surely captivate and engage our audience.”

Devotion to the Virgin of Guadalupe has been a prominent tradition in Mexican culture for more than three hundred years. Each episode is inspired on true events documented by a premier group of investigators, featuring a carefully selected cast to best fit the authenticity realism of the story in realistic dramatizations that highlight the faith and devotion of the characters portrayed. Produced in its entirety in Mexico in high definition (HD), a large percentage of “Virgen Morena” will be shot on location. Promofilm US, an independent TV production company, will be producing the series for Telemundo.
