ZGS Broadcast Holdings, Inc. of Washington, D.C. and Telemundo have united with Cox Communications to offer Telemundo-WRIW to television viewers in Rhode Island. Beginning on February 11, residents of Providence and surrounding cities will be able to tune into WRIW, the only local Spanish-language broadcast station serving Providence and affiliated with the popular Telemundo network. Telemundo may be seen over-the-air on channel 50 and on cable through Cox Communications on channel 54.

The ZGS station group is affiliated with the Telemundo network in growing Hispanic markets throughout the eastern seaboard, from Orlando to Boston. Our entrance into the Providence market represents an important expansion of our distribution platform as well as our commitment to the growing U.S. Hispanic community,” said Ron Gordon, President of ZGS.

The Rhode Island community will have access to the wide variety of high quality and innovative programming offered by the Telemundo Network including the increasingly popular morning show De Mañanita, the top rated talk show Laura En America, the hit reality show Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste, and dramatic prime time soap operas “La Venganza” and “Adrian esta de Visita”. In sports, Telemundo is once again the exclusive broadcaster of home games for the World Cup qualifying matches of the Mexican National Team to air under the title “Rumbo Al Mundial”. The Telemundo news organization is fully dedicated to serving the Hispanic market with a premium nightly newscast, breaking news coverage on critical world and national events and the only network public affairs program on Spanish-language television.
