Telemundo Scores On World Cup Qualifier Match.

The live soccer match between Mexico and Honduras (Sunday 11/11/01, 1PM-3PM EST/10AM-12N PST), which aired on Telemundo Network, the Spanish-language leader in sports, attracted 2.7 million viewers and scored a 14.1 HH rating – the highest rating of any Telemundo program in its history. Over 1.3 million men 18+ tuned-in to watch this critical match, resulting in spectacular ratings among all key male demographics: 12.7 Rtg among men 18-34; 12.2 Rtg among men 18-49, and 12.8 Rtg for men 25-54.
In Los Angeles*, the top Hispanic market in the country, the match earned Telemundo’s KVEA-TV its highest rating ever. “Rumbo Al Mundial 11/11” achieved a record-breaking 30.2 HH Rtg; over 90% of homes watching Spanish-language network television in Los Angeles were tuned to Telemundo’s KVEA-TV.
Similarly in Chicago*, the match’s triumphant 28.4 HH Rtg became Telemundo WSNS-TV’s top rated program ever.
In other top Hispanic markets*, “Rumbo al Mundial 11/11” was also a clear ratings winner. In New York, the match garnered a 59% share of homes watching Spanish-language television. In Miami, the match beat the competition by 16%. And in San Antonio, Telemundo delivered a 57% share of viewing homes.
