Telemundo.com launches online-only diary for ‘Tierra de Pasiones’.

Telemundo announced the launch of an online diary series, where viewers get intimate and behind-the-scenes access to the fiery Belinda San Roman, one of the leading ladies on the network’s hit telenovela “Tierra de Pasiones.” This initiative reinforces the network’s original programming strategy, providing first-run content both on air and offline for its loyal telenovela audience.

Launching this week, the online series gives telenovela lovers an extra dose of drama by allowing visitors a personal look into the life of both the character of Belinda and the actress who plays her, Geraldine Bazan. Through www.telemundo.com, viewers have access to the side-by-side diaries of both Belinda and Geraldine. While the arrogant and spoiled Belinda dishes on gossip, boyfriends and her much talked about drug habit, Geraldine the actress provides visitors a peek into her personal life, the scoop on the telenovela set and insight into her “Tierra de Pasiones” co-stars.

“Part of the unique value of creating our own original programming is that it allows us to extend the experience of our viewers by creating additional relevant content through multiple platforms,” said Peter Blacker, Senior Vice President of Digital Media, Telemundo. “The online component of this diary series offers added-value for our novela fans who want more of what they love, providing a deeper connection between our viewers and our brand.”

Online visitors can log onto www.telemundo.com every week for updated diary entries which will run throughout the telenovela’s finale. Visitors will get recaps of previous episodes as well as behind-the-scenes extended plot lines not included in the regular telenovela’s broadcast.

The launch of the diary series is the first of future cross-platform digital initiatives by Telemundo to further expand the viewers’ experience through relevant and compelling content that is tailor made for them.
