March 12, 2004
The Texas Associated Press Broadcasters (TAPB) recognized Claudia Hinojosa of Telemundo’s KXTX/Channel 39 as best anchor, beating out general market stations in San Antonio, Houston and Dallas. This is the first time in the history of the News anchor/team category that the TAPB recognized an anchor of a Spanish language television station to receive this award at their annual reception in Corpus Christi, TX, this past Saturday, 04/03/04.
“Claudia has a special connection with the audience that goes beyond the news desk. Her knowledge and professionalism continues to build her reputation as Dallas/Ft. Worth’s best among major television competitors,” comments Jose Valle, VP, General Manager of KXTX-Telemundo 39. Zoltan Csanyi-Salcedo affirms, “We are extremely excited and proud of Claudia for winning this honor. It also shows how Telemundo 39 continues to provide a quality Spanish news product that rivals our general market competitors.”
“It’s a privilege for me to be recognized for the work I truly enjoy and am able to touch on issues that matter most to our Hispanic community. Furthermore, I am truly honored that I was selected among so many great journalists with such enormous experience,” stated Claudia.
