Telemundo Communications Group announced results for the Rumbo Al Mundial: Mexico vs. Honduras World Cup Qualifying soccer match which aired on Wednesday, 04/01/09. According to Nielsen Media Research data, Rumbo Al Mundial: Mexico vs. Honduras reached an impressive 6.4 million viewers overall and averaged over 3.6 million total viewers and 2.5 million Adults 18-49, making it the highest-rated program in Telemundo history among these demos.

The game also did well across other key demos delivering 1.5 million Adult 18-34 viewers, 1.7 million Men 18-49 and 1.1 million Men 18-34.

The Mexico vs. Honduras match was the highest rated program during the time period in the Los Angeles DMA among Adults 18-49 with a 6.2 Adults 18-49 rating and a 65% share among Spanish-language stations and in Houston with a 6.9 Adult 18-49 rating and a 58% share among Spanish. In Dallas and San Francisco, the Rumbo Al Mundial match was #1 among all Spanish-language stations in its time period among Adults 18-49 and in Las Vegas among households.
