Telemundo’s WSNS-TV In Chicago Wins Silver Dome Award.

Telemundo’s WSNS Chicago Station Early Evening Newscast was recognized as the best in Chicago, including all general market stations and being the only Spanish-language station nominated, announced today Leopoldo Ramos, the station’s Vice President.
WSNS Telemundo Chicago 5pm newscast won 1st place in the Silver Dome Awards last night in recognition of outstanding achievement in Illinois Broadcasting through 2002. Marketed as “best in the state of Illinois” honors, these awards given by the Illinois Broadcasters Association (IBA) recognize the state’s finest radio and television work in a variety of categories. Telemundo Chicago 5pm newscast was the best TV Early Evening Newscast in a large market category.
In addition, Telemundo Chicago won various 2nd and 3rd places on 5 nominations that included “Best Community Service Activity”, “Best Hard News”, “Best TV Evening Newscast” and “Best TV Weathercast.”
