Terra named 2010 New Media Award for Excellence in Online Communications.

Terra announced that it is the winner of a 2010 New Media Award, presented by the New Media Institute. The New Media Awards is an annual competition celebrating excellence in online communications. Websites are judged based on how well they serve their audience, considering the overall user experience, ease of navigation, content and design.

“As a digital media company committed to providing an optimal experience for our audience, Terra is thrilled to receive a 2010 New Media Award from the New Media Institute,” said Fernando Rodríguez, CEO, Terra USA. “We continue to innovate with platforms such as Terra’s recently launched Live & Loud music hub, and aim to serve as the online destination for our audience.”

On October 3, Terra hosted over 5,000 fans at the first annual Terra Music Fest, an integrated digital experience developed as part of the Live and Loud platform. The day-long concert featuring Nelly Furtado, Don Omar and Fefe Dobson in Los Angeles expanded to a national audience via the “Live On-demand” concert experience on Terra.com. The global digital media company and bilingual content producer partnered with Ford Motor Company to integrate the brand with a fully immersive online and offline experience.

“It is our pleasure to recognize excellence in online communications. Awards recipients ranged from local to global with a diverse assortment of purpose, all exhibiting exuberant creativity in their use of new media as a form of communication,” said Barbara Eber-Schmid, Executive Vice President, New Media Institute. “Each year, we see a substantial increase in the number and quality of entries – providing a gratifying challenge for the judges.”
