Terra.com Appeals To Lighter Side Of US Hispanics.

According to Roslow Research Group, 42% of Hispanic households have access to the Internet and over 50% of Hispanic Americans on the web use the Internet as a source of entertainment. Traditionally, these people listen to music and chat online. Now, through Humor Hispano at Terra.com, they are swapping jokes and judging each other’s humor, in Spanish.

Terra.com announced the launch of Humor Hispano – the first-ever Spanish humor page in the U.S. At http://www.terra.com/humor, people can post their own original jokes, arm themselves with a daily anecdote, send cracks to friends and rate other people’s written humor.

Humor Hispano already has hundreds of jokes sorted into different categories – such as lawyers, friends, in-laws, old folks and the unbeatable classics – for people to read and rate.

Every week for five weeks, Terra.com will be giving a prize to the highest rated joke. This week, the top crack will be given a $100 gift certificate to outpost.com – an e-commerce department store.

“At Terra.com, we continuously strive to offer unique, culturally relevant information and entertaining material to Hispanic Americans,” said Manuel Bellod, general manager of Terra.com. Just as the Spanish language unites Hispanics across countries, humor unites our cultures in much the same way.”
