The CHMC Gala Makes an In-Person Return this Year. CHMC works diligently to enable students in their Hispanic and Multicultural Marketing studies and will recognize dedicated and contributing professionals.

The Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication (CHMC) at Florida State University (FSU) announced the annual gala will be taking place on September 29th, at 6:30 PM EST. This year’s Gala theme is “Going Forward, Forging New Voices” and will be taking place at The Tower Club in Fort Lauderdale. The Gala raises funds for the Felipe and Betty Anne Korzenny Endowment fund which supports the multifunction, career-propelling programs offered by CHMC for students pursuing their certificate or Master’s in Hispanic and Multicultural studies at Florida State University.

The Gala will be a combination of entertainment and recognition of remarkable individuals who have contributed significantly to the progression of our Hispanic community, exemplified our event theme and achieved notable success in their careers. Our distinguished award recipients are the extraordinary Ms. Carolyn Aronson, successful entrepreneur, philanthropist and the founder and CEO of It’s a 10 Haircare Company; and retired professional Major League Baseball player, Tony Pérez, who has not only been inducted into the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame, as well as the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. In addition, the Gala will host an auction, a cocktail hour, and several celebrities and musical guests and awardees of the Circle of Excellence, including our Master of Ceremonies for the evening, Mr. Luis Omar Tapia, and the Latin Grammy Award-winning group ChocQuibTown.

“It is extremely important to keep programs and initiatives that support students focused on Hispanic and Multicultural marketing in higher education alive. We are very grateful for the support we continue to receive from our sponsors and advisory board,” says Dr. Sindy Chapa, Director of the Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication.

CHMC hosts the annual Gala to raise funds for the Drs. Felipe & Betty Ann Korzenny Endowment for the Center’s sustainability and support scholarships and educational activities for diverse and multicultural students and relevant industry programs. Thanks to this year’s sponsorships from businesses and companies such as Emerson, State Farm Insurance, HairClub, the Miami Herald, Coca-Cola, DAC, and more.
