TodoBebé ‘The Year of the Healthy Child’.
February 24, 2005
TodoBebé announced a partnership with the Office of the United States Surgeon General to promote key messages related to the Surgeon General’s “The Year of the Healthy Child” agenda among Hispanic families.
“‘The Year of the Healthy Child’ agenda focuses on improving the body, mind, and spirit of the growing child. Since women’s health before and during pregnancy is the first step to having a healthy baby, the Office of the Surgeon General will highlight steps that women should take to keep themselves healthy, starting from when they are considering becoming pregnant,” said U.S. Surgeon General Richard H. Carmona, M.D., M.P.H., FACS
TodoBebé will collaborate to translate and promote the messages within all of its media outlets in a language and format that is accessible, entertaining, and easy-to-understand for Hispanic families who are planning, expecting, and raising children. Tips and topics will include pregnancy and maternal healthcare, nutrition, exercise, eliminating tobacco use and alcohol consumption, car seat safety, premature birth and low birth weight, immunizations and doctor check ups, childhood obesity, illness and injury prevention, healthy indoor environment, early stimulation, mental health, and child abuse prevention.
“Working together as a nation that cherishes its children, we are ensuring the best possible health, and the greatest productivity and independence for every individual child. TodoBebé is an important part of our strategy to work with corporations, community groups, educators, government leaders, and health institutions as partners to help deliver these critical health messages in a trusted environment to families across all cultures.” Dr. Carmona said.
“For over 5 years, TodoBebé has focused on providing the best information and voices available on pregnancy and parenting, in time to make a difference in the health and happiness of their pregnancy and baby” said Gillian Sandler, Chairman and CEO of TodoBebé. “It is an honor to be working once again with the U.S. Surgeon General and the Department of Health and Human Services to ensure this important information reaches our audience.”
