TouchTunes & Univision Music Group Announce Partnership.

TouchTunes Music Corporation and Univision Music Group, a subsidiary of Univision Communications Inc., announced a licensing agreement between the two companies. Univision Music Group will use the TouchTunes medium as an additional resource to promote their extensive roster of musicians and musical library through TouchTunes jukeboxes (over 6000 jukeboxes located across the country), where fans can play the music of their choice.

With an already substantial amount of Latin music available on the jukeboxes, TouchTunes adds the repertoire of Univision Music Group, offering the consumer an even larger selection of their favorite artists. This includes the impressive rosters on Univision Records label and Fonovisa. Some of the Multi-Platinum Univision Music Group artists currently available at the TouchTunes site include: Pepe Aguilar, Graciela Beltran, Pilar Montenegro, Los Tigres del Norte, Conjunto Primavera, Banda el Recodo, Marco Antonio Solis, Los Angeles de Charly, Los Temerarios among others.

“We are proud to add Univision Music Group’s catalog to our library of available titles,” said John Perrachon, President and CEO of TouchTunes. He adds, “Latin music is a very popular genre today in many locations across the US and, recognizing this, we entered into this deal with Univision Music Group, making TouchTunes a leading provider of Latin music to downloading jukeboxes.”

TouchTunes jukeboxes are already the primary music source in over 6000 locations across the U.S. where TouchTunes currently plays and tracks over 12 million songs per month. With the addition of Univision Music Group, TouchTunes substantially increases its Latin music sub-genres including Regional Mexican, Tejano, Tropical, Latin-Pop, etc.

Linda Komorsky, VP Business Affairs at TouchTunes said: “This is a license that we have been working on for some time now. It is clear that Univision Music Group is committed to ensuring that they evolve with the latest technology and use legitimate means to distribute their artist’s music.”
