TUTV Networks expands carriage.

TuTv LLC, a joint venture of Grupo Televisa, S.A.B and Univision Communications Inc., announced that its networks Bandamax and De Película Clásico have been added to RCN’s lineup in New York City, Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley, PA.  This addition brings the total to five TuTv networks, including De Película, De Película Clásico, Telehit, Ritmoson Latino and Bandamax, available on RCN (NASDAQ: RCNI).

“We are delighted to partner with RCN to offer Spanish-language subscribers the original, high-quality programming available only on the TuTv networks,” said Chris Fager, president of TuTv.  “TuTv has the unique ability to combine marketing expertise with the viewer demand generated by the five channels’ extensive distribution and solid ratings in Latin America.  With this new programming RCN will be well positioned to attract new Latino digital subscribers.”

“Adding Bandamax and De Película Clásico to our MiVisión and El Paquetón packages was a strategic decision,” said Richard Ramlall, RCN senior vice president, Strategic External Affairs and Programming.  “The channels have solid brand awareness amongst our viewers and offer high-quality, unique content.  We are committed to offering the best product to our Hispanic subscribers, and the TuTv channels offer just that.”
