TV Ñ Receives Nominated For Imagen Award.
April 29, 2001
The Imagen Foundation announced its nominees for the upcoming 16th Annual Imagen Awards. TV Ñ was nominated for its first program, which aired this past November, under the category “Informational Programming – National.” TV Ñ is a national stylized news magazine program targeting young Hispanic Americans (Generation Ñ, 18-30 years of age) in English.
The Imagen Foundation has worked for years to recognize the entertainment industry and other media for their positive portrayal of Latinos and Latino cultures. It culminates its efforts every year with their annual awards program. This year the theme is “Celebrating the achievements of today. . . inspiring the vision of tomorrow.” The Imagen Awards will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2001 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
TV Ñ is a co-production of MAYA and Ventana Productions, both based in Washington, D.C. Both companies are now gearing up for a national launch of TV Ñ, in the top 10-20 Hispanic Markets, to coincide with Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15, 2001).
“The Imagen Awards is another example of the kind of positive response that we have been receiving from viewers, the media and newsmakers. We are delighted with this recognition,” said creator and producer of TV Ñ, Luis Vasquez-Ajmac.
This year’s show will include celebrity interviews, the inside scoop on the latest in entertainment and fashion, and informative “news you can use” topics. There will also be on-location reports from some of the hottest cities across the country. TV Ñ is co-hosted by Sarahi Diaz and Osmel Cuan, with entertainment reporter Camila Quaresma and feature news reporter Andrea Romero.
