Unipro Group To Focus On Event Marketing & Promotions.
March 24, 2003
Over the past year, Hispanic television and radio executives have left their positions at Univision and Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation for Unipro Group, Inc. in order to target the growing event marketing and promotions industry. The company announced the positions of key executives and plans for expansion into the top 15 U.S. Hispanic markets.
It was the explosive growth of this industry that inspired Nelson Albareda to leave his position as Local Sales Manager at Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation to found Unipro Group in 2002. The brainchild of Albareda and co-founder Pedro Regalado, Unipro Group has made inroads with event properties and integrated promotional programs.
Unipro Group’s other team members include Manuel Rosales, Director of Sales, an 18-year veteran of television, radio and print advertising sales, most recently for WLTV-Univision 23; and Roselin Cruz-Sotero, Director of Marketing, formerly the assistant marketing director at Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation.
According to Albareda, “Unipro’s focus is on the growing event marketing and sponsorship industry, primarily the U.S. Hispanic market. While the general market benefits from hundreds of sponsorship and promotional firms, very few focus on the Hispanic market. That is the market which we are passionately committed to and experienced in, plus it’s an area of tremendous opportunity.” After 30 years in the Hispanic television industry, Johansen adds, ” I believe Hispanic event marketing is where Hispanic television was more than a dozen years ago, before Nielsen legitimized viewership. It is the last spoke in the wheel that finalizes the tremendous growth in the world of Hispanic marketing.”
Unipro Group plans to continue its growth in both the general and Hispanic markets in Miami with the launch of a Pet Expo and a custom-car show, while forging ahead on the national Hispanic market scene.
