Univision announces Fall 2012 Schedule.

Univision Network announced its fall line-up, including the return of the wildly popular “¡Mira Quien Baila!” (Look Who’s Dancing!). In its third season on Sundays, “MQB” will air a three-hour premiere on September 9 from 8 to 11 p.m. ET/PT, followed by season three of entertainment magazine show “Sal y Pimienta” (Salt and Pepper) at 10 p.m starting on September 16. Univision will also broadcast 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ qualifier matches, including Mexico vs. Costa Rica on September 11, and Mexico vs. El Salvador on October 16. Weekends on Univision will continue to be the home of exciting variety and reality entertainment including the 50th anniversary celebration of “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) on October 27.
 
“Continuing the success of year round first-run programming that has driven us to a successful summer, we are very excited to be announcing a vigorous programming line-up that includes some of the best telenovelas in the world, from our partner Televisa; and season three of ‘Mira Quien Baila’ one of the hottest reality dance competitions on television,” said the company’s President of Entertainment and Univision Studios Luis Fernández. “We will also be  airing some exiting special events including the commemoration of Sabado Gigante’s world record 50th season.”
 
The heart of Univision’s primetime weeknight schedule will continue to include four hours of one of television’s hottest genres – telenovelas – airing Monday through Friday at 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m. ET/PT. The new 2012-13 season will continue to keep telenovela fans on the edge of their seats with “Un Refugio Para El Amor” (A Shelter For Love; 7 p.m.), “Por Ella Soy Eva” (For Her, I’m Eva; 8 p.m.) and “Abismo de Pasion” (Abyss of Passion; 9 p.m.), with “Amor Bravio” (When The Heart Commands; 10 p.m.) which premiered August 13, and “Amores Verdaderos,” premiering later this Fall.
 
Saturday mornings just got better with the premiere of “Sabadazo” on September 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. ET/PT including three-hours of pure entertainment filled with everything from comedy skits, talent contests to special guests and spectacular performances by the biggest names in the industry. Also, airing each Saturday night from 8 to 11 p.m. ET/PT, “Sabado Gigante” hosted by the legendary TV hall of famer Don Francisco, continues its world record run as the longest running variety show in television history. On Sundays, the award-wining investigative news magazine show “Aqui y Ahora” (Here and Now), hosted by Maria Elena Salinas and Teresa Rodriguez, returns for its 12th season beginning September 16 at 7 p.m. ET.  “¡Mira Quien Baila!” hosts Chiquinquirá Delgado and Javier Poza return to the dance competition show which features 10 celebrities learning and executing new routines each week. Immediately following each episode is “Sal y Pimienta,” a weekly look at all things in the world of entertainment, hosted by Lourdes Stephen and Rodner Figueroa.
 
Also this fall on Univision there are a number of primetime specials, including the season two finale of Univision’s hit family-friendly reality show “Pequeños Gigantes” (Little Giants), where the finalists will compete head to head with hopes of being recognized as the most gifted little entertainer in America. That same night, “Sal y Pimienta” will be airing a special edition of   “¡Mira Quien Baila!,” where for the first time, the participating celebrities of the dance competition come together and learn about one another. Also in September, Univision will broadcast a 2014 World Cup qualifier featuring Mexico vs. Costa Rica, and celebrates Mexico’s independence with “El Grito” – exceptional programming live from Mexico City, Los Angeles, and El Zocalo, with special performances from Jenni Rivera, Banda El Recodo, Larry Hernandez and Gloria Trevi.
 
October brings sports lovers another 2014 World Cup qualifier featuring Mexico and El Salvador, plus Mexican soccer’s biggest rivals America and Guadalajara competing in Liga MX’s “Super Clasico.” Also not to be missed is a giant festivity with “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday), the longest-running variety TV show in the world, celebrating its 50th anniversary with a red carpet special followed by a three-hour programming celebration. 
 
The 13th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards in November will continue to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry airing live from Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center.  Univision honors Chespirito and Juan Gabriel in December with special programming highlighting Mexican entertainment icon Chespirito with his successful career and at Festival Acapulco honoring Juan Gabriel 40th Anniversary commemorating his life and astonishing career as a celebrated recording artist, and performer.
