Univision announces sponsors of “2015 Premios Juventude’

Univision Communications Inc.y announced Chevrolet, COVERGIRL, Dodge, Dr Pepper, MARVEL ANT-MAN, McDonald’s, Nissan North America, State Farm®, Sony Pictures Entertainment’s HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2, Target, T-Mobile and Verizon as the official sponsors of the 12th annual “Premios Juventud” (Youth Awards). The 2015 “Premios Juventud” awards ceremony, which will feature customized marketing integrations by COVERGIRL, Dr Pepper, the upcoming film HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2, McDonald’s, Target and T-Mobile, will air on the Univision Network, LIVE from the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami, on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central). PJ 2015 will kick off with a live pre-show, beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central), that will give viewers all-access to celebrity arrivals and a must-see preview of the night’s festivities.

Dr Pepper returns for the third year in a row as the presenting sponsor of two academic scholarships honoring high school seniors of Hispanic heritage pursuing a higher education. The scholarships will honor one student with $50,000 and one runner-up with $25,000. The two winners will be flown to Miami to attend the Youth Awards show and their names will be announced live on-air during the broadcast on July 16. Viewers will get to know both students through brief vignettes featuring their personal stories and academic successes. Additionally, the night of the broadcast, students watching live will have the opportunity to enter a $1,000 tuition giveaway by sharing their biggest education and career goals via Twitter using the hashtag #TuBecaConcurso and mentioning @DrPepper. Sony Pictures Entertainment’s HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2, which is slated for theatrical release on September 25, 2015, will be featured throughout the “Premios Juventud” broadcast. Count Dracula, owner of Hotel Transylvania, and his beloved daughter, Mavis, will present the Best Dressed Award. Fans can join the fun on social media by voting for the monstrous performance of the night using the hashtag #PJBestial. Mavis will join the cast of “Despierta América” the morning after the show to reveal the winner.    
 
McDonald’s will sponsor the “Premios Juventud” Breakfast with the Stars, which will air on “Despierta América.” Breakfast items and delicious McCafe beverages will be served, and shared via social media. The lounge style setting of the “Premios Juventud” Breakfast with the Stars will provide a relaxed and interactive venue to engage with performers and presenters who are on-site at rehearsals for “Premios Juventud.” Fans will be invited to ask questions of their favorite stars via social media using a custom hashtag. Answers will be posted to Univision.com under the “Tú Preguntas” section presented by McDonald’s. On the night of the broadcast, McDonald’s will sponsor Univision’s Premios Juventud Twitter Amplify program, sharing video clips of biggest moments of the show via Twitter. Additionally, McDonald’s will have a major presence at the Premios Juventud Official After Party.
 
Target returns as official sponsor and will bring fans behind the scenes to experience the #SinTraducción moments of the show – those words and experiences in the Spanish-language and culture that have no direct English translation. During the live Pre-Show, Target will host a social media area on the red carpet where fans will be encouraged to share their #SinTraducción words or moments for a chance to be featured in the main show later that night. Social media star David Lopez will engage with celebrities and fans onsite using a Twitter GIF mirror.
 
T-Mobile USA, Inc. (TMUS) returns as official sponsor of the DJ @ PJ competition, a search to find the hottest up-and-coming DJs that culminates at the Surfcomber Hotel in South Beach. Three DJs were selected by Premios Juventud producers and flown to Miami to compete for the chance of a lifetime to DJ during the Premios Juventud award show. Two runners up will get the chance to DJ in a T-Mobile branded DJ booth throughout the “Premios Juventud” Arrivals Carpet as well as the official “Premios Juventud” After Party. T-Mobile is also sponsoring the DJ @ PJ section of Univision.com, which launched on June 22 and features exclusive photos, interviews and video of all three finalists including the actual DJ battle.

“Premios Juventud” awards personalities in five distinct areas including Music, Movies, Novelas, Sports and Pop Culture. The nominees are chosen by fans on PremiosJuventud.com <http://www.premiosjuventud.com/>  and this year, the artists with the most nominations include Enrique Iglesias and Luis Coronel, who were nominated for nine and eight awards respectively. Other top nominees include, J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Jennifer López, Lionel Messi, Maite Perroni, Prince Royce, Romeo Santos, Sofía Vergara and David Zepeda.
 
This year, the list of award categories includes the “Just Play It All” award, for the fan’s favorite album and the “Best New Artist” award, for celebrating all new young talent in the music industry. Additionally, fans can vote for the Latin artist that best engages with them via social media. Nominees include Luis Coronel, El Dasa, Larry Hernández, Nicky Jam, Prince Royce and Thalía.
