Univision announces sponsors of “Premios Juventud”

Univision Communications Inc. announced Chevrolet, Dodge, Dr Pepper, M&Ms® McDonalds, Nissan, Orbit®, State Farm, Target, T-Mobile USA Inc., and Verizon as the official sponsors of the 13th annual “Premios Juventud” (Youth Awards). The 2016 “Premios Juventud” awards ceremony, which will feature customized marketing integrations by T-Mobile and McDonald’s, will air on the Univision Network, LIVE from the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 7 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central). PJ 2016 will kick off with a live pre-show, beginning at 7 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central), that will give viewers all-access to celebrity arrivals and a must-see preview of the night’s festivities. This year’s “Throwback Thursday” theme, #TBTPJ, will bring a retro feel to the red carpet.

“For our partners, ‘Premios Juventud’ is a unique opportunity to directly engage with Hispanic youth through one of the things we know they’re deeply passionate about—music,” said Keith Turner, president of Advertising Sales and Marketing, Univision Communications Inc. “This year, we have the privilege of welcoming back some standout advertisers who are dedicated to reaching Hispanic audiences in unique and creative ways.”

T-Mobile will serve as the official sponsor of DJ @ PJ, a high-energy competition to find the hottest up-and-coming Hispanic DJs that culminates at the Surfcomber Hotel in South Beach. Three DJs, hand-picked by popular TV personalities and music artists, will be flown to Miami to compete for the chance to spin during the PJ 2016 awards ceremony. The runner up has the opportunity to DJ in a T-Mobile branded DJ booth during the glamorous “Premios Juventud” celebrity arrival carpet pre-show, while the third place winner plays music during the ‘Breakfast with the Stars’, a special gathering with PJ music guests which airs the day of show. The DJ @ PJ section of Univision.com, sponsored by T-Mobile, will feature exclusive photos, interviews and video of all three finalists, including footage of the actual DJ battle.

In addition to their involvement in DJ@PJ, T-Mobile will kick off the #DalePlay campaign on social media to promote their unlimited streaming platform*, which allows users to stream all the music and videos they want on their favorite services, without being hit with data charges.

T-Mobile will provide fans with exclusive content in the week leading up to “Premios Juventud” and at the awards show itself, including a social chat with ARTIST, which fans can access and interact with by using the hashtag #DalePlay. T-Mobile will also be participating in the Twitter 360 Glam Cam Experience on the carpet, which will make it’s first-ever appearance at an award show at “Premios Juventud.”

McDonald’s will once again sponsor the “Premios Juventud” Breakfast with the Stars, which will air on “Despierta América.”   This year’s event will take attendees through a retro diner setting and will feature McDonald’s all day breakfast items.  “Premios Juventud” Breakfast with the Stars will provide a relaxed and interactive venue to engage with performers and presenters who are on-site at rehearsals for “Premios Juventud.” Fans will be invited to ask questions of their favorite stars via social media using a custom hashtag. Answers will be posted to Univision.com under the “Tú Preguntas” section presented by McDonald’s. On the night of the broadcast, McDonald’s will sponsor Univision’s Premios Juventud Twitter Amplify program, sharing video clips of biggest moments of the show via Twitter. Additionally, McDonald’s will host an After Party featuring pop duo Chino y Nacho.

Leading up to the July 14 broadcast, fans can engage with all things PJ on Twitter via @PremiosJuventud. Also, they can connect and comment along with others on Facebook.com/PremiosJuventud, @UnivisionPremios on Instagram, PremiosJuventud on Snapchat, and by using #TBTPJ and #PremiosJuventud on their favorite social media platform. Fans will find exclusive content and coverage of this year’s performers online at PremiosJuventud.com.

“Premios Juventud” awards personalities in five distinct areas including Music, Movies, Novelas, Sports and Social Media.
