Univision appoints Beatriz Pedrosa-Guanche SVP Corporate Communications

Univision announced the appointment of Beatriz Pedrosa-Guanche as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications based in Miami.

Beatriz Pedrosa-Guanche brings more than 20 years’ experience in marketing and communications having served in several senior positions at Apple Inc., Burson-Marsteller, Brazil Telecom of America and Verso Technologies. Notably, she led the communications team that catapulted Apple’s first hyper-local Carnaval campaign which was later recognized by Ad Age as “Best of the Year”.  Pedrosa-Guanche’s teams have also been awarded the Holmes Gold Sabre Award for “Latin American Campaign of the Year,” the prestigious “Whipped Cream Awards” for the Ford EcoSport launch in Brazil and named “Best Partner” by Sony PlayStation. Pedrosa-Guanche will leverage her experience to help lead Univision’s corporate, financial and internal communications and handle its media, government and community relations efforts. She holds a Master of International Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and is trilingual in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
 
Rosemary Mercedes Resigns as Chief Communications Officer

Separately, the Company announced that after 15 years with Univision, Rosemary Mercedes has made the decision to resign from her role as Chief Communications Officer and transition out of the Company later this month.
 
Gazzolo added, “I want to thank Rosemary for her dedication to shaping and elevating the Univision story. Throughout her tenure with Univision, Rosemary has played an important role in raising the profile of the Univision brand and the Hispanic consumer opportunity in the marketplace. We are excited for Rosemary on her next chapter and again thank her for her significant contributions and the indelible legacy she leaves behind through her team and across the company.”
 
Rosemary Mercedes is recognized for having successfully communicated multiple large transformations, including the majority stake acquisition by Searchlight Capital Partners, LP, ForgeLight LLC and Grupo Televisa S.A.B and Univision’s recent leadership transition. She is also recognized for establishing Univision as America’s Hispanic Superbrand and was awarded a Gracies Leadership Award by the Alliance for Women in Media and named “Pioneer of the Year” by the Hispanic Public Relations Association.
