Univision Austin presents 9th Premios Texas.

Univision Austin announced the 9th Annual “Premios Texas” (Texas Awards). Premios Texas awards Latin musical excellence as well as showcases popular and up-and-coming Latin bands and musical artists in the music industry, including a performance by Gloria Trevi. The show will take place on Thursday, August 15th.
 
Premios Texas will return to the Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater for the second year in a row. The event will be telecast throughout the entire state of Texas via Univision affiliate stations (Houston/Dallas/San Antonio/Austin/El Paso/McAllen, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Midland/Odessa) on August 24th at 10 p.m. Central and also nationally on Galavisión later this year.

Premios Texas awards musical excellence from various Latin music genres including pop, tejano, regional Mexican, rock and urban. A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to an international artist whom has made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to Latin music during his or her career.  The 2013 star studded event will be a night to remember with many new exciting elements to the show.
 
Mexican pop-rock singer-songwriter Gloria Trevi, also known as the “the Mexican Madonna” and the “Supreme Diva of Mexican Pop” has sold more than 20 million records with over 300 songs. She is currently filming a new telenovela, “Libre Para Amarte,” alongside Gabriel Soto, which will debut on Univision. 
 
She adds, “I feel very humble that Premios Texas is demonstrating their appreciation to my career, for me this recognition will be very special because I have always carried Texas in my heart.”
 
In its ninth year, Premios Texas receives full support from music fans and the entertainment industry throughout North, Central and South America. Nominees, performers and audiences will convene in Austin for this event from multiple U.S. and Latin American markets, once again making Austin, Texas the “Live Latin Music Capital of the World.”
 
Fans will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite celebrities and artists via mobile for the first time ever as well as on the official website for “Premios Texas” by entering into www.PremiosTexas.com beginning July 1st. Users can also view pictures and videos from previous “Premios Texas” shows online.
