Univision BIG winner in August ratings race.

In a month in which competition off the field was nearly as heated as on it, Univision’s primetime audience grew by double-digit margins among all key demographics in August 2008 versus the same period in 2007 (+15% among Adults 18-34, +13% among Adults 18-49 and +16% among Total Viewers 2+) while the English-language broadcast networks ABC, CBS, FOX and the CW were down significantly. Most importantly, these results are measured against all viewers, regardless of language, not just Hispanics.
In August 2008, viewers stayed tuned to Univision as it enjoyed strong year over year audience increases in primetime among all key demographics.
Overall Highlights:
Univision was the #1 network in primetime for two weeks in August* among all Adults 18-34, not just Hispanics
Univision outdelivered at least one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX ) 94% of the time among all Adults 18-34 vs. 86% of the time in August 2007
Univision beat one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) 80% of the time among all Adults 18-49 vs. 64% of the time in August 2007
Univision out-performed the CW every single night among all Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49
Univision’s current primetime novela line-up (M-F 7p-10p) delivered nearly 4 million Viewers 2+ (+30% vs. 07), 2.2 million Adults 18-49 (+29% vs. 07) and 1.3 million Adults 18-34 (+31% vs. 07) every weeknight during August
Univision’s primetime delivered three times more Adults 18-34 (1,116,000 vs. 343,000), Adults 18-49 (1,872000 vs. 588,000) and Total Viewers 2+ (3,385,000 vs. 998,000) than Telemundo
