Univision brings Fans access to Latin Grammys via Social TV & Digital Integrations

Univision Communications Inc. unveiled plans to connect and deliver fans with direct access to the 14th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards® through first-of-its kind digital and social television integrations offered on any awards show to-date. Fans had the unique opportunity to interact with their favorite celebrities and ask questions as they participate virtually in an exclusive Google+ Hangout featured on a video wall during a green carpet broadcast.
 
Bringing fans closer to the action, Alejandra Espinoza, co-host of the hit show “Sábado Gigante” and the first winner of Univision’s Nuestra Belleza Latina, served as the Latin GRAMMY®s official social media host,  and helped bring fans closer to the celebrities and featured their comments on social using #LatinGRAMMY throughout the broadcast. From asking the celebrities fan questions submitted via Google+, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to Tweets congratulating their favorites during winning moments, fans experienced the telecast firsthand.  Espinoza updated fans from the social media lounge on trending topics and celebrity social chatter on the social wall throughout the evening.

Additionally, Univision.com and LatinGRAMMY.com offered backstage live streaming, providing fans unprecedented access with exclusive interviews of the winners immediately after they accept their awards, hosted by Catalina Mesa and Kike Posadas.
 
Other social and digital activities surrounding the 2013 Latin GRAMMYs detailed as follows:
 
·         Google+ Hangout Video Wall featuring Fans – A first for any major awards show to date in the U.S., fans participated in a Google+ Hangout and featured on video wall live on the Latin GRAMMY green carpet.
 
·         Celebrity Arrivals Interviews – During the green carpet arrivals, fans shared questions using Twitter or Facebook for their favorite stars.
 
·         Global Twitter Chatter – Fans tuning in and Tweeting around the world were integrated in a global map update during Espinoza’s social media hits.
 
·         Celebrity Instagram “selfies” – Photos were featured on the social wall and allowed fans to virtually be alongside their favorite stars as they get ready for the big night.
 
·         Latin GRAMMY Moments on Facebook – Fan’s chatter about the most emotional moments of the night.
 
·         Latin GRAMMYs on Univision.com –  From “El Fashionometro,” which reviewed the hottest looks and fashion of the top stars and newsmakers, to candid photos and videos powered by UVideos, to the “Best Moments” of the Latin GRAMMYs since 2000, fans were offered a one-stop source for everything related to the Latin GRAMMYs. ·         Second screen experience on UVideos app – Univision had a unique 2nd screen experience inside the UVideos app where users interacted with polls and quizzes live and found exclusive pictures and videos from rehearsals behind the scenes and much more.
