Univision to Broadcast Public Affairs Series About Health Issues.

Following the official launch of the Univision Communications Inc. national Spanish-language health education initiative “Salud es Vida…Enterate!” (It’s Your Health… Learn About It!), Univision Network will broadcast a public affairs series that addresses health issues affecting U.S. Hispanics.

With the mission of raising awareness, increasing knowledge and encouraging positive health decision-making, the first program of the series “Habitos Sanos…Vida Sana” (“Healthy Habits for a Healthy Life”) will air Saturday, December 13, from 10-10:30am ET/PT.

Maria Antonieta Collins, “Noticiero Univision’s” nationally recognized weekend co-anchor, will host the inaugural program of the series. She will focus on how a healthy lifestyle can help prevent the onset of certain diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and obesity. Featuring interviews with doctors and medical specialists, the program details risk factors related to each condition and provides reachable goals for implementing specific measures to help Hispanic TV viewers take control of their health.

Produced by Univision in conjunction with national health organizations, “Habitos Sanos…Vida Sana” will air Saturday, December 13, from 10-10:30am ET/PT (9-9:30am Central / Mountain). Following the first program of the series, Univision Network will air public service announcements designed to remind viewers how to maintain a healthy
lifestyle.
