Univision Celebrating Cinco de Mayo @ The White House.

Ana María Canseco, the co-host of Univision’s “Despierta América,” will be acting as master of ceremonies at the Cinco de Mayo celebration to be held at the White House this Friday, May 3. The festivities will be presided over by President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, and will commence in the East Room of the White House.
Present at the White House’s Cinco de Mayo celebration will be the Ambassador of Mexico to the U.S., His Excellency Juan Jose Bremer Martino, as well as a variety of well-known Latin acts such as Mexican “ranchera” singer Pedro Fernandez, the Mariachi Campanas de América of San Antonio, and the Ollimpaxqui Ballet Company from Dallas.
Canseco stated, “I’m very excited and honored to be visiting the White House for the very first time. I feel it’s a great opportunity to be able to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with President Bush and the millions of Mexican Americans who live in this country.”
Ana Maria Canseco has co-hosted “Despierta America” since its debut in 1997. Along with the other members of the show, she has helped to make it one of Univision’s highest-rated programs and the favorite choice of Hispanic viewers in the morning. “Despierta America” airs Monday through Friday from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
