Univision Communications Inc. and Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE:CL), the world’s leading oral care company, today announced their partnership to bring important oral health education to Hispanics as part of Univision’s ongoing health campaign, “Salud es Vida…Enterate!”
The partnership will include the creation and broadcast of public service announcements (PSAs), sponsored vignettes, regular news health segments and quarterly health special reports on television and radio.
In addition, extensive information about the importance of oral care will be available on dedicated Enterate website pages through Univision.com.
“More than 40 percent of Latino children have untreated dental decay(1),” said Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis (CA-32), Chairwoman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus’ Task Force on Health. “I commend Univision and Colgate for launching an educational campaign to improve our community’s oral health.”
“Proper dental care is an important issue in our community, as many Hispanics do not have adequate access to oral health education and care,” said Thomas Arnost, President of the Univision Television Group. “We are excited to join forces with Colgate to further Univision’s commitment to educating Hispanics about critical health concerns, including the link between oral hygiene and overall health.”
“As an expert in Oral Care, Colgate has always been committed to developing new ways to educate consumers on the importance of proper oral care habits,” said Suzan Harrison, Vice President and General Manger, Colgate U.S. Oral Care. “Oral Care education is one of Colgate’s key priorities and Colgate’s partnership with Univision allows us to expand our current efforts to reach Hispanics in the U.S.”
