Univision Deportes announces return of Portugal’s Primeira Liga and Dutch Eredivisie

UDN, multimedia sports division of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), has announced the return of Portugal’s Primeira Liga and Dutch Eredivisie. The in-depth multiplatform coverage will include live matches on UDN, as well as on UnivisionDeportes.com and via the Univision Deportes App.

“At Univision Deportes, we seek to bring fanáticos a diverse selection of the sport they are so passionate about,” said Juan Carlos Rodriguez, President of Univision Deportes. “Bringing matches from Liga Primeira and Dutch Eredivisie allows us to expand our offering and make inroads to solidifying our place as the premiere fútbol destination.”

Matches from the Portuguese Primeira Liga, currently ranked No. 5 in the UEFA League Ranking, will feature key Mexican players, including Miguel Layún (FC Porto), Héctor Herrera (FC Porto), Jesús Corona (FC Porto), Diego Reyes (FC Porto), and Raúl Jiménez (S.L. Benfica). Additional international players include Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas (FC Porto), Portuguese player Rui Patrício (Sporting Lisbon), Brazilian goalkeeper Julio César (Benfica) and Uruguayan defender Maxi Pereira (FC Porto).

Dutch Eredivisie, ranked No. 9 in the UEFA League ranking, will feature several fan favorite players from Mexico, among them: Andres Guardado (PSV Eindhoven), and Hector Moreno (PSV Eindhoven), along with international players who include Colombian Santiago Arias (PSV Eindhoven) and Brazilian Nathan Allan de Souza (SBV Vitesse).

UDN will broadcast the first Primeira Liga match on August 12th when Rio Ave faces FC Porto.
