Univision ‘El Desfile de las Rosas’ Get An Emmy.

Univision’s New Year’s Day live coverage of “El Desfile de las Rosas” (“The Tournament of Roses”) was presented with the “Best Live Special Event” Emmy for the third consecutive year. Organized by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS) and the Los Angeles area Emmy Awards, the ceremony took place on Saturday, September 6, at the Academy’s Leonard H. Goldenson Theater in North Hollywood.

Ana María Canseco, “Despierta America’s” (“Wake Up America”) national morning program co-host, formed part of Univision’s award-winning team that brought the TV spectacular to viewers across the nation. As co-host of the event for the past three years, Canseco’s coverage has consistently received the recognition of the Academy. Rolando Nichols, KMEX-TV local news anchor and Raúl Rodríguez, world-renowned Rose Parade float designer, joined Canseco as part of the unbeatable commentary team.

Produced by Univision’s owned and operated station, KMEX-TV 34, and televised nationally on Univision Network, “El Desfile de las Rosas 2003” captured all the splendor and flamboyance of the 114th prestigious tournament without commercial interruptions. KMEX-TV competed head-to-head with KTLA-TV’s Tournament of Roses broadcast in this category.
