Univision expands Social Media efforts.

Univision Communications Inc. announced at E3 the formation of a new social media communications team expanding Univision’s efforts in driving engagement and discovery in social media. The Company also announced the appointment of Univision’s David Beck as vice president/general manager of Social Media, reporting to Mónica Talán, senior vice president of Corporate Communications and Public Relations.
 
“Our audience is sharing our digital content and engaging on social media in fast-growing numbers,” said Talán.  “This is the right time to expand our efforts and build on our success.  David is a strategic thinker and collaborative leader and understands how our audience is evolving.  He and his team will help us engage with our viewers in new and meaningful ways that drive continued growth.”
 
“Our goal is to deepen the already-strong relationship Univision has with our audience,” said Beck. “We want to help our viewers discover and engage with our content on multiple media platforms and we want to make it easier than ever for them to share Univision content through their social channels. Our team has the drive and expertise to push Univision forward in this arena.”
 
Previously, Beck served as vice president of Strategic Initiatives for the Office of the CEO at Univision where he led multiple initiatives focused on revenue and ratings growth opportunities as well as operational improvement, all requiring extensive cross-functional collaboration.  Prior to joining Univision in 2009, Beck was with Bain & Company where he worked in the Media and Private Equity practices focused on growth strategy and turn-around/change management.  Before Bain, David held strategy and business development roles at MTV Networks and Viacom, and was an M&A Investment Banker.
