Univision launches Women’s Leadership Council.

In celebration of Women’s History Month and the myriad contributions of women in business, Univision Communications Inc. announced the launch of its Women’s Leadership Council to help advance women at Univision and prepare the next generation of women leaders. This employee resource group is committed to actively contributing to the professional growth and development of women at Univision with a particular focus on Mentorship, Recruitment, Development and Community Service.
 
“The Women’s Leadership Council is part of Univision’s emphasis on enhancing the performance and development of our people and in this case, harnessing the power of Univision women.  Our Company has so much to gain in this regard,” said Randy Falco, president and CEO, Univision Communications Inc.  
 
“I could not be happier to help the Company launch a program that is focused on elevating women in leadership roles,” said Tonia O’Connor, president, Content Distribution and Corporate Business Development. “I have been fortunate enough to have had terrific mentors, access and training in my career, and I am passionate about creating similar opportunities for the next generation of women in business.”
 
Univision’s Women’s Leadership Council will be lead by a national steering committee comprised of O’Connor and Bob Llamas, EVP and chief human resources officer, as well as:
 
·         Jessica Rodriguez, EVP, Program Scheduling and Promotions
·         Phyllis Verdugo, EVP / Deputy General Counsel
·         Trisha Pray, EVP of Network Sales
·         Monica Talan, SVP, Corporate Communications and PR
·         Fabrizio Alcobe, SVP of Administration for Univision Networks
·         Ivelisse Estrada, SVP, Corporate and Community Affairs
·         Rachel Gross, SVP, Event Marketing
·         Sandra Martinez, director, Human Resources Leadership and Development
 
The group will operate from three principal regional hubs in New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Every employee including men, across all disciplines, and at all stages of their careers, will be able to participate via the regional hubs which will lead in creating programming. The regional hubs will engage and empower employees in all of Univision’s markets by inspiring and promoting professional growth.  
 
As part of the launch, the Women’s Leadership Council will lead a company-wide service initiative to encourage all employees to volunteer with a non-profit of their choice in their communities.
