Univision & Longs Drugs To Offer Health & Wellness Solutions.

Univision Communications, Inc. and Longs Drug Stores Corporation announced their collaboration to make health and wellness solutions available to the Hispanic communities on the West Coast as part of Univision’s ongoing health campaign, “Salud es Vida…¡Entérate!”

This initiative will provide valuable health information to Hispanic consumers via television, radio, and online offerings. Television elements will feature health vignettes focusing on key health topics such as treatment compliance and disease management; sponsorships of topical health news segments; and Univision’s award-winning half hour quarterly health specials that focus on chronic illnesses, risk factors, and lifestyle interventions. Moreover, local Univision Radio stations will broadcast informative health segments and host community health events. Longs will also sponsor extensive health and wellness information on Univision.com’s web pages dedicated to Entérate.

Longs Drug Stores will provide additional materials and services in key stores throughout the State of California. In-store support will include bilingual health information on a variety of health topics. In addition, Spanish language health classes given by health professionals and hosted at learning centers located in Longs retail stores will provide expert advice on health related topics that are of great interest to Hispanic communities.

“Univision is thrilled to work in conjunction with Longs Drug Stores for the promotion of healthy lifestyles,” said Thomas Arnost, President, Univision Television Group. “We view this program as one more way that Univision can make a positive and important impact on Hispanic communities. Working together with partners like Longs, we are able to provide our audience with information they need to make informed decisions about their health.”

“We are very excited about our new relationship with Univision and the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the Hispanic community through such a powerful brand,” said Todd Vasos, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Longs Drugs. “Longs has been serving the health and wellness needs of Hispanic consumers in California for over 65 years and we have played an active role in that community as one of the largest California retailers and employers. We look forward to building on the strong relationship we have established over the years.”
