Univision makes move at 96.3 in New York.
September 16, 2009
According to Radio Ink, Univision is making a change at its newly acquired 96.3 FM signal in New York, as the station on Thursday will become WXNY (X 96.3 FM), playing rhythmic hits. The company closed last week on a three-way deal and initially moved Tropical WCAA into the slot as it swapped places with WQXR, now a noncomm at 105.9 under new owner WNYC Radio.
WCAA’s Luis Jimenez remains in mornings on the new X 96.3 FM, which has a full-market signal covering New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, reaching, Univision said, an additional 260,000 Hispanic listeners.
